Kitigan Zibi Post Secondary - Application

Responsibility of Students

  1. Students receiving Educational Assistance under the terms of this program shall be responsible for satisfying the academic requirements of the institution of higher learning in which they are enrolled.
  2. Parents of Post Secondary students under the age of 18 years may ask the Post Secondary Support Clerk for any information at any time concerning their child's funding status with the Kitigan Zibi Education Council. However, it is not the responsibility of the Post Secondary Support Clerk to keep the parents updated on the status of their child as a student, or to get any other information outside that is required by the policy. The parents have the responsibility to ensure that their child provides all necessary academic documentation to the Post Secondary Support Clerk as required for funding purposes.

Dates of Application Deadlines

For September enrollment - July 1st

For January enrollment - November 1st

For inter session or summer school - Minimum of 1 month prior to start of program (Subject to funding availability)

Delays

Applications for educational reception require a reasonable delay between time of application and reception of the financial assistance. Delays may be due to the time required for the application to reach us, and the time required to process the application and have the cheque issued.

Once the application has been approved by the Kitigan Zibi Education Council, all students at the CEGEP or Community College level will receive their allowances on a monthly basis at a date established by the Kitigan Zibi Education Council administration office. Under no circumstance will allowances be given other then on the established dates.
